Is Your Money Really Yours?

Is a man is entitled to the fruits of his labor?  In 1776, this principle undergirded the American revolutionaries’ slogan, “No taxation without representation.”  Which is to say, government can’t take your money unless you first give permission.  You the taxpayer decides when and how much to pay.

New Hampshire’s Democrats have embraced a different way of thinking:  first the state, then you, the individual.  In this mentality, the state identifies certain groups of residents as “special” and deserving of extra assistance.  The state then steals income from hard-working individuals and redistributes it to the special groups.  In return, the special groups become supporters of increased state power.

In a recession, with many taxpayers out of work, there’s less money to steal and redistribute, but the state’s commitment to special groups does not go away.  That’s why John Lynch and the Democrats are so eager to raise taxes.  This year, new and increased taxes are projected to take $250-750 million out of our pockets.  To name a few of the recent measures:
- a new LLC tax on businesses
- a “temporary” motor vehicle and trailer surchage of $30 to $75 per vehicle for 2010-2011
- an increased excise tax on meals and hotel rooms from 8 to 9 percent
- an increased cigarette tax of $.45 per pack

It’s obvious that these taxes will hurt all of us, especially low and moderate income families.  Making automobile registration fees more expensive merely makes it more difficult for people with small or fixed incomes to maintain their mobility and will probably result in cuts to other areas of their spending.  A cigarette tax doesn’t actually stopping smoking.  The LLC tax is yet another assault on small business and is really an income tax, which will cause layoffs and lower wages and benefits.  Businesses that can’t cut costs will leave the state.  Those that choose to stay will raise their prices.  Ultimately, any tax on business is passed on to the forgotten man, the taxpayer.  Businesses don’t pay taxes—we do.

Because of the recession, we in the private sector has had to tighten our belts.  Privately employed people don’t have the option of recovering lost income by demanding it from their neighbors.  Imagine what a terrible place New Hampshire would be if a man who had lost his job could take his firearm, march into his neighbors’ home, and demand that they replace his livelihood.  But this is exactly what our government officials are doing.  Instead of making the tough decisions to stop spending, the legislature chooses to take advantage of their monopoly through the use of force.  They know that if they raise taxes, we will be compelled, by the power of the state, to comply.  They have saved themselves from the painful effects of the recession by transferring their burden to us.

Are you entitled to the money you earn?  Democrats are trying to convince you the answer is no—the needs of the state and its favorites come first.  It’s time to show them that we, the taxpayers, don’t agree.  Let’s re-affirm the right of the taxpayer to decide when, where, and how our money will be spent.  Let’s stand up to the state government’s blatant abuse of power.   You can make a difference.  Get and stay informed, involved and remember in November.

Legislated Term Limits - Bad Idea

Self imposed or voter determined term limits are best for our nation.  This was the original intent of our Founding Fathers, allowing for the people to have the last say.

However, legislated term limits puts the unelected hired staffers in charge.  That is like allowing un-elected judges to make policy.  Legislated term limits give the unelected staffers more power and influence over the laws with limited checks or balance.
The attached article from Politico illustrates how working for The United States House of Representatives is a pretty sweet deal. You don't have to run for office, you don't have to work all year, you get to go home early most Fridays, get to know wealthy, powerful people, eat good food, attend ritzy events, you influence a man or woman who makes our nation's laws because you have their ear, oh,.....and you can make $172,500/year.

Legislated term limits remove the final checks and balance established by the constitution...you the people.

STOP the Takeover!

It is a sad day when we are forced to fund the destruction of the next generation.  Obviously, the radical left wants to enslave Americans.  They want to reduce the number of people so they will have fewer to control.

But wait, there is a silver lining in the current cloud of healthcare.  More, and more Americans are waking up.  Just as in Washington, Concord Is on the March to take over more, and more of our freedoms, trampling on our constitutions and forcing dependency upon the people.
And the bully on the playground will only stop the forward momentum when someone hollers, STOP!

It is time we, the people holler, shout, scream...STOP!
STOP! We will not allow you to continue to destroy the next generation through taxpayer funded abortions.
STOP!  We will not allow you to take more, and more of our tax dollars from us, we have worked too hard to earn them.  STOP!  We will not allow you to burden our children nor their children with your addiction to spending without concern.
It is time to campaign and fire those who trample on our freedoms while claiming to represent us.  Get behind your candidate.  Pray for them.  Volunteer to help them.  Send the much needed finances, no matter how small.  Then talk to your friends.  Talk to your neighbors.  Talk to the radio talk show host.  Talk to the shop owner.  Every where you go talk about your candidate and why you are supporting them.  Write letters to the editors of newspapers.  Make sure the name of your candidate is known.  This is the only way we win in November.

Our Children As Mules

Using school children as mules to advance their agenda is a common practice among those who want to take over your care from cradle to grave.  Whether it is to bring home politically slanted flyers or to take advantage of the recently proposeded Obama budget contains an education dollar component.
To the tune of $100 Billion to recruit an amry of high-school students to “help us bring about our agenda.”  Obama’s “agenda” to enslave the people by using the government to take over your wallets and remove your freedoms through European-style Socialism.
The internet outreach from his campaign, Obama for America has been morphed into Organizing for America.  These high school recruits will be provided with “insight on the strategy and plan behind the health care campaign.”  This is how we cut spending?  Read more.

Runaway Spending is Killing our Business Advantage

Concord has an addiction to spending.  They can never get enough of your dollars and they will consume everything they can get and then want more.  Over the past six years the number of government jobs has grown at a rate that was twice the rate of our population growth.  You and I know that this is not job creation but rather Concord adding to runaway spending.  Government does not create jobs.  Businesses create jobs.

Over regulating and imposing an income tax is not the way to improve the business climate in NH.  We need a Governor who will say NO to spending.

Where is the money going?

Those public officials operating in the State House in Concord are in a love with spending.  But what are they buying?

Over the past six years the number of state government jobs has doubled the growth in population.  But the more astonishing fact is that in 2007, there was a 13 fold growth of jobs compared to the growth in population.  Is it any wonder that in 2008 1nd 2009, it was “necessary” to create or expand sources of revenue to pay for the payroll that was created?

That payroll and the associated benefits that the state is paying comes from the backs of the people of NH.  It doesn’t matter whether there is available revenue labeled as a federal grant, federal stimulus or some genie in the sky. In truth, it ALL comes from the pockets of you taxpayers.  How much do you have to spare?

Better start your second and third jobs so you can pay for those car registration taxes.

Extreme - Radical

It is a well-known tactic to label those with whom you do not agree.  You hear it attached to the right wing usually accompanied by extreme or radical.

Just what does it mean to be extreme?  According to the dictionary extreme is “furthest from the center or given point.  Let’s look at some results of polls taken here in America.

86% believe in God
78% believe in Jesus Christ
87% believe in voluntary student-led prayer
67% believe define marriage between one man and one woman.
Over half of Americans identify themselves as pro-life.
So Christians who believes in marriage between one man and one woman and respect life are in the center of American opinion.  Who is extreme?

And radical is defined as “advocating thorough or complete political reform.”  What is so radical about supporting marriage as a man and a woman?  Isn't joining together to create the next generation the natural order of the life cycle?
